SSC CGL 2026 Notification and Online Application Form – Complete Information

As of Current date April 2026, the official notification for SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026 has not been released yet on the official website ssc.gov.in.

According to SSC's Tentative Calendar 2026-27 (official Examination Calendar):

• Date of Advertisement (Notification Release): March 2026 (originally expected on 31 March 2026)

• Closing Date (Last Date for Application): April 2026

• Month of Exam (Tier-1): May – June 2026

Due to administrative reasons, there has been a slight delay, and most reliable sources now confirm that the notification will be released in April 2026. The application form will start along with the notification.

What is SSC CGL? (SSC CGL क्या है?)

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) is a national-level competitive examination conducted by SSC for recruiting candidates to Group B and Group C posts in various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India.

यह Staff Selection Commission द्वारा आयोजित एक राष्ट्रीय स्तर की परीक्षा है, जिसमें स्नातक उम्मीदवारों को केंद्र सरकार के विभिन्न विभागों में Group B और Group C पदों पर भर्ती किया जाता है।

Salary: Pay Level 4 to Level 8 (starting basic pay approximately ₹40,000 to ₹75,000+ per month) plus allowances and good promotion prospects.

Important Expected Dates (महत्वपूर्ण अनुमानित तिथियां)

• Notification Release: April 2026 (March 2026 के अनुसार calendar में था, लेकिन delay के कारण अब April में)

• Online Application Start & Last Date: April 2026 (exact dates will be mentioned in notification)

• Tier-1 Exam: May – June 2026

Eligibility Criteria (योग्यता मानदंड)

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) from a recognized University. Final year students can also apply if they complete the degree before the specified date. शैक्षणिक योग्यता: किसी मान्यता प्राप्त विश्वविद्यालय से स्नातक डिग्री।

• Age Limit: Generally 18 to 32 years (varies from post to post – some 18-27, some 18-30, some up to 32). Age relaxation is provided for SC/ST, OBC, PwD, Ex-Servicemen etc. as per government rules. आयु सीमा: सामान्यतः 18 से 32 वर्ष (पद अनुसार भिन्न)। आरक्षण श्रेणी को छूट मिलती है।

• Nationality: Indian Citizen (or as per specific rules for some posts).

Exam Pattern (परीक्षा पैटर्न – संक्षेप में)

• Tier-1 (Qualifying): Online Computer-Based Test (CBT) – 100 questions, 200 marks, 60 minutes. Sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension. Negative marking applies.

• Tier-2 (Merit deciding): More detailed papers (Paper-1 compulsory for all, Paper-2 for JSO posts).

After Tier-2, there is Document Verification and Medical Examination (for some posts).

Vacancies (रिक्तियां)

In previous years, vacancies were around 14,500–15,000+. For SSC CGL 2026, 15,000+ vacancies are expected. The exact number will be announced in the notification.

What Should Do Now? (अभी क्या करें?)

1. Visit the official website regularly: https://ssc.gov.in → Check “Notice Board” and “Examination Calendar”.

2. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) if not done yet – it will save time during application.

3. Start preparation seriously: Focus on Maths (Quantitative Aptitude), Reasoning, English, and General Awareness. Solve previous year papers.

4. As soon as the notification is released, download the PDF, read all instructions carefully, and apply online before the last date.
