Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit (as on 20 April 2026)

• Constable (Driver): 18–27 years (minimum 21 years in some references – confirm in PDF)

• Constable (Veterinary) & Nursing Orderly: 18–27 years

• Constable (Carpenter): 18–25 years

• Other Trades (Gardener, Washerman, Barber, Tailor, Cobbler, Water Carrier, Waiter): 18–23 years

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years

• OBC: 3 years

• Ex-Servicemen: Service period + 3 years

• Central Government Employees and special categories (J&K, Ladakh, 1984 riots): Additional relaxation as per rules

आयु सीमा:

2. Educational & Technical Qualification

All posts require Matriculation (10th Pass) + trade-specific requirements:

• Driver: 10th Pass + Valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Driving Licence

• Veterinary: 10th with Science + 1 year experience in animal treatment

• Carpenter, Gardener, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Water Carrier, Waiter: 2 years trade experience OR ITI Certificate/Diploma with experience

• Nursing Orderly: 10th Pass + First Aid Certificate + 1 year hospital experience (minimum 50 beds)

शैक्षणिक योग्यता:

सभी पदों के लिए 10वीं पास अनिवार्य। ड्राइवर के लिए एचएमवी लाइसेंस, वेटरिनरी के लिए पशु उपचार अनुभव, अन्य ट्रेड्स के लिए आईटीआई या ट्रेड अनुभव जरूरी।

3. Physical Standards (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Height & Chest (Males):

• Driver & Veterinary: Male General – Height 170 cm, Chest 80-85 cm (5 cm expansion)

• Other Trades: Male General – Height 167.5 cm, Chest 78-83 cm

• Female General: Height 157 cm

Relaxations apply for candidates from North-East, Hill areas, ST, Garhwali, Kumaoni, etc. (5–7.5 cm in height/chest).

PET (Qualifying):

• Male: 4.8 km race in 24 minutes

• Female: 2.4 km race in 18 minutes

• Ex-Servicemen exempted

Weight must be proportionate. Medical standards include eyesight 6/6 & 6/9, no colour blindness.

शारीरिक मानक:

ड्राइवर और वेटरिनरी के लिए पुरुष – ऊंचाई 170 सेमी, छाती 80-85 सेमी। अन्य ट्रेड्स में थोड़ी छूट। महिलाओं की ऊंचाई 157 सेमी। पीईटी में पुरुषों को 24 मिनट में 4.8 किमी, महिलाओं को 18 मिनट में 2.4 किमी दौड़ना होता है।

Selection Process

1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST)

2. Written Examination (Computer Based Test – 100 marks)

3. Trade/Skill Test (Practical, minimum 60% qualifying)

4. Document Verification

5. Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Review Medical Examination (RME)

Final merit is based primarily on Written Exam marks after clearing qualifying stages.

• Mode: Online CBT (Objective MCQs)

• Questions/Marks: 100

• Duration: 2 Hours

• Sections (25 marks each): General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning, General English/Hindi

Syllabus (10th level): Current Affairs, History, Geography, Maths (Percentage, Ratio, Time & Work), Reasoning (Series, Analogy), Language (Grammar, Comprehension).
