🟢 BIG UPDATE: OTET 2026 Application Date Extended!
The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha has extended the online application deadline for OTET 2026 (Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test) till 9 May 2026 (midnight).
The original last date was 9 April 2026. This extension has been given due to high demand from candidates (especially working teachers). More than 70,000+ applications have already been received, and the total is expected to cross 1 lakh.
Exam Details
Paper 1: For teaching Classes 1 to 5
Paper 2: For teaching Classes 6 to 8
You can apply for both papers if eligible.
Mode: Offline (pen & paper)
Total Marks: 150 per paper
Questions: 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Duration: 2.5 hours (150 minutes)
Negative Marking: None
Qualifying Marks: 60% for General category, 50% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD
Original Exam Date: 29 May 2026 (may be rescheduled; new date will be announced soon by the Board).
Subjects Covered
Common for both papers: Child Development & Pedagogy, Language-I (Odia/Urdu/Hindi etc.), Language-II (English)
Paper 1 extra: Mathematics + Environmental Studies
Paper 2 extra: Mathematics & Science OR Social Studies
Eligibility (Quick Overview)
Minimum age: 21 years (no upper age limit)
Educational qualification: D.El.Ed / B.Ed + 12th / Graduation (as per NCTE norms)
Must be a permanent resident of Odisha (detailed criteria available on official website)
