Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply for Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment 2026 under the Agnipath Scheme:
Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
Marital Status: Unmarried male and female candidates only.
Educational Qualification (Post-wise):
Agniveer General Duty (GD) & Women Military Police: Class 10th / Matric pass with minimum 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject.
Agniveer Technical: 10+2 / Intermediate pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths & English (minimum 50% aggregate and 40% in each subject). ITI in related trade may also be accepted.
Agniveer Clerk / Store Keeper Technical: 10+2 / Intermediate pass in any stream with minimum 60% aggregate and 50% in each subject.
Agniveer Tradesman (10th Pass): Class 10th simple pass (minimum 33% in each subject).
Agniveer Tradesman (8th Pass): Class 8th simple pass (minimum 33% in each subject).
Age Limit
General Age Limit: 17½ to 22 years (Born between 01 July 2005 and 01 July 2009 – both dates inclusive).
Note: Age limit may vary slightly for some technical/specialized posts (e.g., Soldier Technical NA/NA Vet up to 23 years, Sepoy Pharma up to 25 years). Candidates must check the official notification for exact cut-off dates.
Age Relaxation
No standard category-wise age relaxation (SC/ST/OBC) is provided under the Agnipath Scheme.
One-time upper age relaxation has been granted for the 2026 recruitment (up to 22 years for most categories).
Additional relaxation in physical standards is available for outstanding sportsmen (National/State/District level).
Physical Standards
Physical measurements vary by region, category, and trade. General minimum requirements (indicative):
Height: 162 cm to 170 cm (higher for hilly regions – e.g., 166-170 cm for most categories).
Chest: 77 cm (unexpanded) with minimum 5 cm expansion.
Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per Army medical standards.
Special Physical Standards

Processing Fee: ₹250 (for all categories).

Candidates must qualify the following:
1.6 Km Run: Timing-based marking (Group-I: up to 5 min 30 sec = 60 marks; Group-II: 5 min 31 sec to 5 min 45 sec = 48 marks)
Pull-ups / Beam: 6 to 10 pull-ups (higher marks for more pull-ups)
Zig-Zag Balance and 9 Feet Ditch (qualifying nature)
Additional tests like push-ups, sit-ups may also be conducted. Standards are stricter for Agniveer Technical and GD categories.
Medical Standards
Candidates must be medically fit as per Indian Army standards (eye sight, dental, hearing, overall health).
No tattoo (except small religious symbols on specific body parts).
Candidates with permanent body modifications or chronic diseases will be rejected.
Final medical examination will be conducted at designated Military Hospitals.
Final Merit List
Merit list will be prepared based on performance in CEE (written exam) + Physical Fitness Test marks + bonus marks (if any for sportsmen).
Only candidates clearing all stages (written, physical, medical & document verification) will be included in the final selection list.
